Epson has finally updated its photo printer line with two new models
2025-01-10
Epson has announced the Epson L8050 A4 Photo Printer and the Epson L18050 A3+ Wi-Fi Photo Printer. The two printers mark a refresh of the company's two-year-old photo printer line.
As photo cartridge printers, the L8050 and L18050 come with six cartridges instead of the usual four, including light cyan and light magenta inks. This helps improve the print quality of images, making images appear more vibrant than those on conventional colour printers that only use four colours.
Both printers also use Epson's advanced image subsampling feature, which helps avoid data loss when images are subsampled. This means that by using ICDS, Epson photo printers ensure that when an image is downsampled and its resolution is reduced (for example when printing text), you do not lose its original quality. The print retains original detail and fine lines that might otherwise be lost when the photo is resized.
They also print faster than their predecessors. The L8050 takes 25 seconds to print a 4R borderless photo and 64 seconds to print an A4 borderless photo. The latter is almost twice as fast as its predecessor. The L805 takes 27 seconds to print a 4R borderless photo and 121 seconds to print an A4 borderless photo. The L18050 takes 27 seconds to print a 4R borderless photo, 65 seconds to print an A4 borderless photo and 110 seconds to print an A3+ bordered photo. The L1800 takes 45 seconds to print a 4R borderless photo, 150 seconds to print an A4 borderless photo and 227 seconds to print an A3+ bordered photo.
Both models support CD or DVD label printing, as well as PVC/ID card printing. Users can even print an RFID card to personalize it, turning a plastic card into a secure employee pass.
The L8050 and L18050 are also equipped with front access ports, making maintenance simple and convenient. By opening the top, users can perform various maintenance operations without leaving extra side space for maintenance purposes, thereby optimizing space utilization.
The Epson L8050 and L18050 photo printers will be available on Epson’s Singapore website from 9 March 2023, priced at S$489 and S$749 respectively. Don’t forget to visit Epson’s official store pages on Lazada and Shopee. We don’t have prices for replacement cartridges yet, but replacement cartridges used in previous models cost S$15.90.
We thank all our supporters for helping us achieve these prestigious media awards in the industry!
